Do I really not need a credit card to start?
Correct. The Plant plan is free forever for churches under 75 members. You only add a card when you upgrade.
What does the platform fee cover?
1% on Plant, Grow, and Flourish — 0% on Legacy. The platform fee supports infrastructure, donor receipts, recurring giving, and Stripe Connect.
What does Stripe charge?
2.2% + 30¢ (Stripe's nonprofit rate, available to verified 501(c)(3) organizations — your church will need to complete Stripe's nonprofit verification during onboarding).
Can donors cover the fees?
Yes. Every giving flow includes a 'cover fees' toggle. When a donor covers, your church receives 100% of their intended gift.
What happens if I exceed my member limit?
We'll reach out a few weeks before the limit and help you upgrade. We never suddenly cut off access.
Can I add SMS credits if I run out?
Yes, on any plan. Top-up packs from 100 to 10,000 SMS, never expiring.
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes, anytime. Upgrades are prorated automatically. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. No contracts, cancel anytime.
What about a custom branded app?
Every Church Krew church gets a fully themed mobile experience inside our shared app — your colors, logo, content, and branding. We've found this serves churches better than separate custom apps, with faster updates and zero maintenance burden.
Is there a contract?
No. Month-to-month or annual. Cancel whenever. Your data is always yours and always exportable.
Does giving require my own Stripe account?
Yes — we use Stripe Connect Express, which means donations go directly to your church's bank. Church Krew never touches your funds.
