Privacy Policy
Effective June 30, 2026
1. Who we are
Church Krew ("Church Krew", "we", "us") provides software that helps local churches manage members, giving, events, children's check-in, and related ministry operations, including a mobile app for church members. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, web app, and mobile app (together, the "Service").
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account & profile data — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, and the church you belong to.
- Giving & payment data — donation amounts, funds, frequency, and receipts. Card and bank details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Children's check-in data — for guardians who use check-in, a child's name and, where a guardian chooses to provide it, allergy and medical notes used solely to keep children safe during church activities.
- Content you submit — prayer requests, directory preferences, event registrations, and messages you send through the Service.
- Device & usage data — app version, device type, and log data needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account.
- Process donations and deliver giving receipts.
- Operate church features you use — directory, events, check-in, prayer.
- Send transactional messages (e.g., receipts, account, and check-in notices).
- Respond to support requests and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. How information is shared
Your information is visible to your church's authorized administrators and staff so they can carry out ministry. We also share data with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including:
- Stripe — payment processing for giving.
- Twilio — SMS and notifications, where enabled.
- DigitalOcean — hosting and file storage.
- Email providers — transactional email delivery.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition. We do not otherwise share your information with third parties.
5. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for use by adults (such as parents, guardians, members, and church staff). Some features, such as check-in, let a guardian enter limited information about a child for safety and logistics. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children, and a child's information is accessible only to the guardian and the church's authorized staff.
6. Data retention & account deletion
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
Deleting your Church Krew account. There are two ways, and neither requires you to reinstall the app:
- In the Church Krew mobile app — Profile → Delete account.
- By email — write to [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We action requests within 30 days and reply to confirm.
When you delete your account we erase your personal profile information — name, email, phone, photo, and your profile record — and disable your login so the account can no longer be used. Certain records required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes, such as donation history a church must retain for contribution statements, may be kept in de-identified form.
7. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and other safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address issues if they arise. Report security concerns to [email protected].
8. Your choices & rights
You can review and update your profile in the app, adjust directory and notification preferences, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information — contact us and we will honor applicable requests.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service.
